The story behind the foundation of our company started in the 50’s and it is indeed a very peculiar one. Back then, the founder Giuseppe Grassi used to supply the farmers working in the mountains surrounding Parma with grapes and wines. In a period characterized by poverty and very little money availability in the aftermath of WW2, he used to obtain in exchange raw pig thighs. In this way, he started to salt and season them in an old attic. Obtaining some successes out of this basic practice, he decided to make a job out of it.
This curios story led then to a proper family business when the sons of Giuseppe – Giancarlo and Paolo – decided to follow in the footsteps of the father.
